VIRANEL AROMES SAUVAGE

Approved Jun 26, 2018

What to Expect

Alicante Bouschet, a rare teinturier red grape with its skins and flesh both red, offers deep color and dark fruit notes. Originating from unknown regions but gaining respect in places like Portugal's Alentejo for producing powerful varietal wines as well as blends, this grape can be challenging to balance flavor depth against its tendency towards full-bodied richness. Expect robust and deeply colored expressions with flavors of blackberry, black plum, pepper, and cocoa, paired beautifully with grilled meats, stews, and hard cheeses.
