Torricino's Aglianico offers a powerful southern Italian red with dark fruit, firm tannin, high acidity, and volcanic-earth depth. As one of southern Italy’s most important grapes, it is often linked to ancient viticulture but its modern reputation rests on deeply structured wines from places such as Taurasi and Vulture in Campania and Basilicata. Expect rich flavors like black cherry, plum, and blackberry with notes of dried herbs, smoke, leather, earth, licorice, and sometimes iron-like mineral notes. The structure is imposing when young but will develop into polished wines with age potential, making it a serious pairing for robust foods like lamb, beef, and grilled meats.
